Adam Shereston in Wales
The man who helps, heals and communicates with animals
“Kath, there’s a healer coming up to look at the foal….”
“What, where, when…..”
and so Mid–Wales and I were introduced to the work of Adam Shereston.
Eighteen months ago I would have been highly sceptical that anyone could possess such “powers” to be able to communicate with and heal animals, but by November 2003 a series of events and meetings in my life had opened my mind enough to know that yes, this was indeed possible.
Adam came that first time to look at (amongst others) a foal that a few days earlier had slipped coming in from the field. The initial impression when she first got up was of a broken hind leg, but thankfully nothing was broken – just extremely sore. As Adam started to treat her she quietened (a very common reaction) and then before our eyes she put all her weight on to the bad leg, which up to that moment she had been loathe to stand on, twisted her hips and seemingly put everything back into place. Within a week she was sound and is now a huge, healthy yearling.
That was the start. Since then Adam has returned several times to Wales and in the course of his work has treated a wide variety of horses from Welsh Section A ponies to Cleveland Bay stallions and from foals to thirty-five year olds. Each communicates to Adam in their own way but as Adam says,
“It doesn’t always work. Sometimes the horse chooses not to have the healing – that is their choice and we cannot force the issue.”
What is beyond doubt is that however he does it Adam is indeed picking up information from these horses as time and again he will tell the owner of some previous injury, illness or incident in the horse’s life of which he had no prior knowledge but which the owner can confirm.
My own experience has been when Adam has treated my mare Midnight. Firstly it was a revelation how much she “liked” Adam as she can be very stand-offish with strangers, especially men. Min actively moved to be beside him and was completely accepting of his presence and the work he did with her. During the treatment Adam gave her in June he immediately picked up on pain she was feeling in her upper left jaw,
“Definitely feels like it’s coming from her teeth, I’m getting a shooting pain up the side of my face”
said Adam.
At no time did Adam open Min’s mouth or even feel her jaw from the outside, half the time he was just standing beside her not even touching her. This demonstrated wonderfully how Adam works. He “connects” with the horse and then if the horse is open to healing and it is a physical problem, Adam actually feels the pain the horse feels in his own body. With the experience he now has from treating many horses, he can relate the pain in his body to the equivalent part of the horse’s anatomy. This is one reason why Adam is very keen for feedback from the owner on how the horse is after the treatment, as this all adds to his well of knowledge.
But back to Min and her teeth. I do have Min’s teeth checked regularly and had not noticed anything untoward such as quidding her food, and as I ride her in a rope halter had not noticed any extra sensitivity around the mouth when bridling her. However, having seen the accuracy of Adam’s diagnoses with several other horses I knew my next step was to get her teeth checked by the vet. The vet duly came and his very first comment upon opening Min’s mouth was,
“Oh! Look at the hook on that tooth there, that must be giving her some pain!”
And where was the overgrown tooth? Upper left jaw! Despite getting to know Adam and the way he works, I was still gobsmacked. The tooth was duly treated and I am pleased to say the next time Adam saw Min he picked up no further pain.
The interesting thing as well is that if you quiet your mind and stand with Adam as he treats your horse, the “energy” can work it’s magic on the human as well. Several times people have reported that the next day not only is their horse moving more freely, but their own aches and pains have lessened or indeed disappeared altogether.
Adam was recently a speaker at a Holistic Horse Night that was held in Aberaeron in August. Here he spoke of how he came to have the ability to do this work and how he works with the horses he treats. People were obviously impressed as from this talk alone he received so many bookings that it necessitated yet another trip to the Welsh hills. Thankfully for us Adam is well used to being on the road as he goes where he is needed with distance no object and when he treats a horse he takes the time it takes, there is no time limit or rush, he works with an animal until he feels the healing has finished and his work is done.
Here in Wales we feel privileged and very grateful to have met Adam Shereston the man who helps, heals and communicates with animals.
Adam will be back in Wales 14th November 2004 onwards so if anyone would like to make a booking with him or would like more information please contact
