Barefoot Chestnut part-TB Gelding
Red is a part thoroughbred gelding aged about 16 standing about 15.2hh (not measured but I bought him as 15.3hh and he had really long feet and shoes on then so he must be shorter!). He has been with me for most of the last six years apart from a year out with a young lady of 14 who rode and, I believe, hunted him. He came back because she has to do her GCSEs.
He has lived out this winter, barefoot (barefoot 5 years) but rugged as there is little to no shelter from wind and rain where he currently is. He is a steady horse, probably a bit unfit now as he only gets ridden once a week, but he has the ability to get fit and be as forward as you would like him to be.
He has been schooled well at some point and has a very good jump, but I have just used him for hacking (alone and in company) so his best qualities have been little used.
I love him dearly, and it is through no fault of his own that I am seeking a BAREFOOT home for Red. I can honestly say he has looked after me.
