Are you looking for a top class New Forest pony? Then look no further. Billie is a quality Forester with a character second to none. Despite his tender age he rides and handles with a maturity of an older pony. However it must be remembered that he is in his first year of work, and therefore would benefit from an experienced child or lightweight adult to direct him toward a very promising future.
Billie is unblemished and has superb paces. His father, Peveril Peter Piper, was the top rated New Forest stallion in the country in 2001 & 2003 (2nd in 2002). Peter Piper was shown regularly at Horse of the Year Show and Olympia taking best of breed, alongside Billie’s brother (Ashfield Black Jack) and half brother (Willoway Pipers Gold) who have both been shown successfully at this level. Billie is barefoot trimmed, and has moved through the ‘transitional’ period, showing soundness and freedom of movement. He rides bitless but will also ride perfectly well in a bit. He lives out 24/7. Due to where Billie is living he is not able to see much traffic, but although he sometimes needs encouragement, this is something he will become accustomed to with the correct handling. As you can see from the photograph he is quite happy to work with his owner sitting on a chair (due to being on crutches at the time)!
Billie has completed initial training in Natural Horsemanship. He had to complete an obstacle course containing bridges, barrels and jumps (excellent technique!). At the end of the course he was hacked bareback and bitless through Aberaeron town.
Billie is excellent to handle in or out of the stable, to rug, tack up etc. He will ride alone and in company. He will happily ride and lead, and is a firm favorite with all his field/stable mates.
Billie will be going to his new home complete with his own turnout rug and his English leather Jeffries bridle.
